Student Killed And Two Hurt In College Shooting

A lockdown was triggered at Sacramento City College as security officers and a police helicopter looked for the gunman.

One student was killed and two others injured after a shooting in the car park of a California college.
A group of men near a baseball field at Sacramento City College were involved in a verbal dispute when one of the men pulled out a gun and fired.
The gunman then fled the scene on foot and it was unclear if he is associated with the college.
One victim was declared dead at the scene. A second was taken to hospital in an unknown condition and the third suffered only minor injuries.
Their names and identities have not been released.
Sacramento city police said the college campus was cleared of students and staff and a lockdown was triggered as officers searched the campus for the suspect.
The suspect was described as a man of Pacific Island descent, wearing cargo shorts and a white T-shirt.
Jackie Flores, 50, who lives close to the car park, said she heard four or five shots.
She told the Sacramento Bee: "It all happened so fast."
The corner of the campus where the shooting took place is surrounded by strip malls, chain restaurants and has a golf course on one side.
Initial reports had said there were two suspects.
Rick Brewer, a spokesman for the college, told NBC News the gunman opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun.
He added that the injured man was hit several times and was taken to UC Davis Medical Center.
